We are seeking a full-time Sales Associate to join our Sunshine & Ski team in Regina, Saskatchewan.

A family-owned/-operated business for nearly 50 years, Sunshine & Ski is Saskatchewan’s winter home for skis, snowboards, nordic skis, and winter clothing (such as Patagonia, Arc’teryx, and 686). In the summer we offer wakeboards, water skis, and high-quality outdoor furniture. Track & Trail is our running/walking shoe subdivision, where our staff are trained to properly fit footwear. 

Customer service is our top priority. Our retail sales team consists of outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about providing product expertise and excellent customer service

    Sales Associate

    Hours of work: Full-time (approx. 35-40 hrs/week)

    Compensation: $20-30/hour (blend of hourly wage + commission)

  • Job Summary

    The Sales Associate is responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, making suggestions and providing/researching product information to ensure the customer gets exactly what they are looking for.

    Product knowledge is an important part of the job in order to communicate options and information to customers. Training sessions with management & industry professionals are ongoing & mandatory. As well, the Sales Associate will have the opportunity to draw on the experience & expertise of long-serving store sales staff.

  • Responsibilities

    • Maintain visual merchandising
    • Organize the stock inventory areas
    • Store opening and closeing procedures
    • Maintain housekeeping and general store cleanliness
    • Receiving and unloading products in an efficient and timely manner (often heavy items including skis, patio furniture, etc.)
    • Assist in the selection/purchase of merchandise (some travel may be required)
    • Implement the store manager's operation goals for the store
    • Creating purchase orders and entering inventory
  • Candidate Requirements

    • The successful candidate will be someone who maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting the store's commitment to our customers.
    • Demonstrates outstanding customer service and selling skills
    • The individual must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a buisness setting, with an ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
    • Sales-driven and goal-oriented attitude.
    • Excellent communication skills (English- written, verbal, interpersonal).
    • Retail sales experience.
    • Ski and/or snowboard experience is preferred.
    • Basic math & computer skills and the experience using a point-of-scale system.
    • Flexibility to work varying shifts (evenings, weekends, holidays).
    • Ability to unload trucks, carry display racks, walk up and down stairs and step ladders.
